From entrepreneurial beginnings to a 55-person organisation, this investment funds manager is now poised for its next phase of growth. We were invited to support that transition by delivering a team development experience at their regional offsite, focused on strengthening Connection, encouraging Play and enabling Growth.
In our view, there is no more effective tool than the Herrmann Brain Dominance Instrument (HBDI) for this work. Robin and her team partnered with the entire business to deliver a half-day workshop that was both insightful and energising.
With assessments completed in advance, all 55 participants were taken through the Whole Brain Thinking model and their individual profiles. The learning came to life on the ‘brain mat’, where participants physically stepped into the coloured quadrants to explore their preferences in action. Through light-hearted exercises, humour and relatable anecdotes, thinking styles were not just explained — they were experienced.
This element of play created psychological safety and sparked honest reflection. It also allowed the team to explore the ‘so what’: what a strong bias towards factual and rational thinking might mean for collaboration, innovation and growth. By the end of the session, individuals had greater self-awareness and a shared language to strengthen connection across the business.
Feedback across the group was consistently positive, creating momentum beyond the offsite and laying the foundations for continued partnership.
